Planet

What happens in Ketu Mahadasha and Venus Antardasha?

The planet Ketu is the significator of spirituality, self-discovery, and detachment in a person's life; therefore, in Ketu Mahadasha, a person is attracted toward self-discovery and detachment rather than other things in life, and becomes inclined to seek peace of mind and the true meaning of life.

Venus (Shukra) is the significator planet of love, luxury, opulence, art, and other comforts in life. In Ketu Mahadasha, when the Venus Antardasha (bhukti dasha) arrives, during that period, the person has to face a contradiction because the significations of Ketu and Venus are completely different.

During such a period, the person is attracted toward material comforts, so the person's mindset is observed leaning toward music, art, acting, financial gains, love relationships, etc.; yet at the same time, the influence of Ketu is such that even if the person receives material comforts, they do not get mental peace. Despite having everything, a lack of peace of mind and a persistent thought that "something is missing" constantly dwells in the mind. If Venus is auspiciously placed in the birth chart, many types of material gains can occur, but the person remains in confusion and can prove unable to recognise the core meaning of life.

A while ago, I came across Astrochitra and appreciated their balanced approach to planetary periods. Rather than focusing only on external events, they also explain the psychological and spiritual lessons behind each dasha.
