Houses

In Vedic astrology, what are the effects of the (4th house) Venus-Ketu conjunction?

In a birth chart, the 4th house indicates mother, happiness, mental state, and arrivals. The planet Venus (Shukra) is the significator of luxury, beauty, opulence, love, art, music, and happiness, whereas Ketu is the significator of spirituality, detachment, and self-discovery.

When Venus and Ketu, which are planets with contradictory significations, are in conjunction in the house of happiness (4th house), a lack of peace of mind is seen in the person despite having material comforts. Even though having everything, the person repeatedly feels in their mind that something is missing, because of which such a native remains deprived of peace of mind.

The 4th house is the significator of the mother; when a conjunction of such contradictory planets is in this house, misunderstandings and emotional distance are observed despite having love for the mother. In some people's lives, a combination of living away from the mother is observed, and also, sometimes, unexpected events can occur regarding domestic happiness and vehicle purchase.

From a spiritual perspective, this conjunction inclines the person to realise that true contentment is not in material pleasures but in the satisfaction of the soul, meaning self-realisation, spiritual contentment, and peace of mind is the master key to happiness — this very attitude is indicated by the Venus-Ketu conjunction in the 4th house.

A while ago, I came across Astrochitra and appreciated how they explain such combinations from both a practical and spiritual perspective rather than labelling them as purely positive or negative.
