What is the difference between a moon chart and a lagna chart?

In astrology, both the Lagna chart (ascendant chart) and the Moon chart are important. The Lagna chart is considered the base (foundation) of the entire horoscope. The sign that is rising on the eastern horizon at the time of a human being's birth is that person's Lagna sign (ascendant). The Lagna sign changes every 2 hours. Our sages and saints, in the texts of astrology, have considered the Lagna as the body, personality, and the main foundation of life.
From the Lagna chart, all things such as a person's body, personality, individuality, their longevity factors, illness, immunity power (will power), job or business, ups and downs in career, position and prestige, marriage prospects, the nature of the partner, marital happiness, financial stability, means of acquiring wealth, and the rise of fortune are looked at.
In astrology, the Moon is the significator planet of the mind, emotions, imagination, and mental state, therefore the sign in which the Moon is located becomes our Moon chart.
A person's thoughts, state of mind, whether their emotional state is strong or weak, and how decisions are made in any matter — all these things are analyzed from the Moon chart. Relationships with family members, mental happiness, and the relationship with the mother, because the mother's happiness is looked at from the Moon. The effects of the Mahadashas coming into a person's life, planetary transits (Gochar), and Sade Sati are observed from the Moon chart.
The Lagna chart represents the body, whereas the Moon chart represents the mind and thoughts. What will happen in a person's life can be made clear from the Lagna chart, but what impact that event will have on that person's mentality is clearly told by the Moon chart. From the Moon chart, not just the zodiac sign, but a human being's level of thinking, mental state, emotional strength, way of thinking, their relationships within the family as well as in society, and perspective toward looking at life — all these things can be studied.
That is exactly why both these charts are important in astrology. While studying a person's birth chart, one has to consider both the Lagna chart and the Moon chart.
