What is Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) and how is it different from Western Astrology?

Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) is an ancient Indian astrological system based on the Sidereal Zodiac (fixed star constellations), whereas Western Astrology uses the Tropical Zodiac (seasonal equinoxes). Sidereal signs are currently ~24 degrees behind Tropical signs.
