What is Neecha Bhangam in astrology and how does it affect debilitated planets?

For every planet, its exalted sign as well as its debilitated sign is described in astrology; generally, a planet being in its debilitated sign indicates a lack of that planet's significations. Neechbhanga Rajyoga means that despite a planet being in a debilitated sign, the planet's debilitation is canceled and its full auspicious results are obtained.

A planet's Neechbhanga Yoga is observed due to the following reasons:

  • The lord of the sign where the planet is debilitated being strong or being in an auspicious position.
  • The planet that gets exalted in the sign where a planet is debilitated becoming strong.
  • When a debilitated planet is in a quadrant (Kendra) either from the birth ascendant chart (Lagna Kundali) or according to the Moon chart (Chandra Kundali) — meaning in the first, fourth, seventh, or tenth house in its debilitated sign — the debilitation of that planet is canceled.
  • When the sign lord of the debilitated planet is in a quadrant position in the birth chart or in the Moon chart, the Neechbhanga of the debilitated planet occurs.

Due to Neechbhanga Rajyoga, a person always achieves success through struggles and attains prestige, honor, and respect in society.
