What are Marak houses, and why do they matter?

According to the Laghu Parashari principle, the 2nd and 7th houses are classified as Marak ("challenge-bringing") houses in every chart. When a planet — especially a house lord like the 7th lord — sits in one of these houses, or when one Marak lord occupies the other Marak house, astrologers pay close attention, since this combination is treated as more delicate and prone to friction than an ordinary placement.
